LPN Molly Najimy was recently named one of BCArc’s Employees of the Quarter, which she feels is a result of her dedication to giving individuals the best nursing care possible.
Molly first started working at BCArc in October 2021 after her fiance’s mother, who also works for the agency, told her about an open LPN position and encouraged her to apply. Prior to this, Molly worked in the dementia ward of Berkshire Place, a nursing home in Pittsfield. She had never worked with people with disabilities before but wanted to try something new, and ended up loving it.
“I wanted to see if I could make a difference in their daily lives,” Molly said. “I love being able to make their days better in any way that I can.”
At work, Molly’s primary responsibilities include maintaining the health and safety of individuals, making sure everyone’s needs are met, administering medications, and keeping up to date with physicals. Her favorite aspect of the job is being able to interact directly with the individuals and spend time with them.
“Sadly, we’ve had a few individuals pass away, but we always do something to honor them,” she said. “We’ll have a pizza party or ice cream party in their memory, and it’s always very special.”
Recently, Molly was named as one of the Employees of the Quarter, an award which recognizes staff members who have excelled in their positions. Molly believes that she was chosen for this award because of her consistent hard work and dedication to advocating for individuals.
“Molly is such a ray of sunshine for Crossroads,” said the staff member who nominated Molly for the award. “She is very sweet and kind to the individuals and makes everyone feel safe. She has been an excellent addition to our team, she is a real team player and that is what Crossroads needed.”
“It was amazing to be recognized and to know that people are happy with my performance,” Molly said. “This was my first time receiving an award like this, so it feels great, especially so early in my time here at BCArc.”
Outside of her work at BCArc, Molly enjoys going shopping, spending time with her family, and taking her dog on walks.
