A team of residents at BCArc’s co-op apartments spruced up a utility box with a painting titled “See the Good” at the southeast corner of South Street and Crofut Street, near BCArc’s main office.
Brian, Jason, Robert, Chris, Bruce, Chris and Andrew collectively conceived the designs, submitting three ideas before the current design was selected by the City. The box has a rainbow design on the front and on the back says “See The Good.”
The “See the Good” crew worked tenaciously to get the utility box ready for Andrew to start sketching the design. They had cleaned, scrapped, sanded and sprayed primer and finally layed down the base coat. With the hard work behind them, Artist Andrew, sketched out their design and then the entire crew lent a hand in applying all the colors of the rainbow, while Andrew guided them and adjusted things until he achieved perfection.
Co-op staff member Melody Effendi helped drive the project and coordinate with the city of Pittsfield. She praised the team for their dedication to this project and all the hard work that they put in to bring the idea to life.
“Their different work and program schedules slowed down the completion of this project,” she said. “But they’ve had lots of laughs and have made memories to share.”
The team all agreed that learning how to use the hand sander was the best part.
Brian, Jason, Robert, Chris, Bruce, and Andrew are excited for the community to see the “See the Good” Paint Box come to life!
