Berkshire County Arc’s Down Syndrome Family Group  to Host 12th Annual Buddy Walk® of the Berkshires

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (July 17, 2018) – On Saturday, September 22, Berkshire County Arc’s (BCArc) Down Syndrome Family Group will host the 12th Annual Buddy Walk® of the Berkshires. The goal of the walk, which is affiliated with the National Down Syndrome Society, is to promote awareness and inclusion of people with Down Syndrome and to fundraise for those with Down Syndrome who reside in Berkshire County.

The event will begin with registration at Craneville Elementary School in Dalton, Mass. at 10 a.m. Registration will end at approximately 11 a.m., with the walk to follow. Walkers will return to Craneville Elementary School, where there will be a family barbecue, a raffle, live music and other fun activities. This event draws more than 1,000 participants annually.

The Berkshire County Arc Down Syndrome Family Group supports 40 families living in Berkshire County who have a family member with Down syndrome.  All proceeds from the Buddy Walk will help to provide services and support for children, adults and families of people with Down syndrome living in Berkshire County.

Registration for the walk is free for all who would like to participate. Walkers should submit their registration forms by Aug., 31, 2018 to be guaranteed a t-shirt.
