Ed Deveno, a direct care professional at Berkshire County Arc, won the Bridge Builder Impact Award at the Association of Developmental Disabilities Providers’ (ADDP) Annual Membership Meeting in Westborough. ADDP is a statewide association representing community-based human services providers.

This award recognizes a direct support professional who builds connections and creates pathways to opportunity.

Ed was recognized for his work with Ken, the individual that he works with one-on-one. He has encouraged Ken to push himself out of his comfort zone and achieve personal growth through experiences such as volunteering at their local animal shelter and food pantry, baking brownies for police officers, and going on outings in the community.

“Berkshire County Arc is lucky to have staff members like Ed who are dedicated to helping individuals to live healthy and happy lives,” said Maryann Hyatt, BCArc’s President and CEO. “He is beyond deserving of this recognition.”

“Ed is an amazing staff who goes above and beyond on a daily basis,” said Erin Manson, Director of DDS (Developmental Disabilities Services) Residential at BCArc. “He is patient and calm and always has every individual’s best interests in mind.”

Ed began at BCArc in 2013, and since then has shown his commitment to the agency mission of supporting people with disabilities. In 2024, he was named one of BCArc’s Employees of the Quarter.
