Kaitlyn Giron has worked at BCArc for three years and is currently a Brain Injury Residential Supervisor. She is also a member of the college tuition remission program. The tuition remission program allows for BCArc employees who attend a Massachusetts state college or university to receive free tuition for an undergraduate degree.

“At BCArc they have such great benefits, so I took advantage and went back to college,” she said.

Kaitlyn had previously attended Wheelock College in Boston as well as Berkshire Community College, but took some time off. After learning of the benefits BCArc offers to its employees, she decided to go back to college. She now attends MCLA, and is pursuing an interdisciplinary degree in Human Services, expected to graduate in spring 2023.

“At BCArc they have such great benefits, so I took advantage and went back to college.”

Before each semester, Kaitlyn will fill out the remission form and submit it to HR, who will then send it to MCLA. The cost of tuition will then be removed from her bill. Overall, she describes the process as being very straightforward and simple, and encourages any BCArc employees interested in going back to school to look into it.

“It’s definitely a benefit to take advantage of if anyone wants to go back to school.”
