About Us

Berkshire County Arc’s BICC of Western Mass, located in downtown Westfield, provides a center for individuals with brain injuries to meet, socialize, share experiences, and develop skills and tools for success.

Members of the BICC love to go on adventures, such as the cycling trip pictured above, rope climbing, mini-golfing, and more.

Members Drive the Program

With the support of professional staff, members select the activities, goals, and the agendas. In fact, members named the Center. The Center values the benefits of community, and activities often foster peer support.

Members are encouraged to help out around the BICC in various ways. Frankie, pictured above, painted this mural on the wall of the center.

Creating Independence

The goal is for each individual to strive for independence through enhanced social and personal skills, strong decision-making, advocacy and employment. Examples of program operations include providing lunch for the day, intake and orientation of new members, public relations with visitors, general maintenance of the building site, evaluation of program staff, and community outreach.
