They call him “Kyle Smiles.” He brightens any room he walks into. Bursting with curiosity, he is always ready to embrace the next challenge. He comes to mind when you think of someone who embodies the thrill of life and its endless adventures. One of the most important parts of Kyle’s life is friends and family, so keeping in touch is very important. He does this through his social media accounts, sharing his photos and passion for life and adventure.

Kyle joined BCArc in 2020; before BCArc, he attended Pittsfield High School and the Boys and Girls Club. His favorite activities are meeting new people and exploring new parts of Berkshire County. He eagerly anticipates the events organized by BCArc, especially the summer series, which he loves attending every week.

Reflecting on his future with BCArc, Kyle says, “I can’t wait for the new experiences to come.”

Beyond his involvement with BCArc, Kyle has a passion for photography. While he takes casual photos for his social media accounts, he also presents his work in shows around Berkshire County.

He enjoys taking photos because, as he says, “photos show experiences and memories through images.”

Capturing pictures of friends, family, and nature makes Kyle happy. He values looking back at these memories and cherishing the great times they represent. For Kyle, preserving these moments is the most important aspect of photography. CATA, an inclusive community arts organization, is where Kyle has showcased some of his photography. One of his still-life photos sold for $279. When Kyle attends CATA, he works with peers who share his passion for photography. They can bounce ideas off each other and create new works of art.

As Kyle’s time at BCArc progresses, he aims to meet new friends, expand his social media presence, and develop creative photo ideas. Kyle’s close friends and family inspire him to keep pursuing photography. His most important goal is to continue smiling through life.
